Navy seals have this saying that under pressure, you don’t rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training. Going through pressure, stress or intense pain brings out the raw and real you.It reveals character in its truest form. It is a mirror of where you stand and the state of your heart.
Do you turn tail and run?
Do you hide?
Do you go out of your mind?
Do you take it in stride?
Are you stoic, nothing revealed under a facade of calm?
Indulge in a vice hoping temporary pleasure will ease the hurt?
Or do you sink to the depths of His love and anchor there?
The motions are no strangers to me. Been there, done that. Written my name on the path of pain. But I encourage you as I encourage me. Sink to the depths of his Love. Find rest, find peace. He is your steady and your steadfast. When heart and flesh fail you, Jesus is your faithful strength.
Remember this and fall, underneath are everlasting arms. There is purpose to this pain. Don’t worry, He never leaves.
Rejoicing comes in the morning.
